Tomsk Region and Uzbekistan to develop cooperation in high-tech economic sectors

The acting chief of the Regional Department of Science and Higher education, Irina Shpachenko, spoke about this according to the results of the first day of work of the Tomsk Region delegation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The representatives of the Tomsk universities met their colleagues from the Tashkent University of Information Technology, the Institute of Physical Culture and Borowsky Tashkent College.

TSU, TPU and TUSUR agreed to sign an agreement with the Tashkent University of Information Technology according to which the Tomsk universities will train engineers for the Uzbek economy.

“This work presupposes the realization of academic mobility programs, joint scientific research, experience exchange in group project-based learning and the creation of strategic development programs,” Irina Shpachenko reported.

 At the meeting with the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Victor Shulik, the Tomsk representatives discussed the national features of work with Uzbek university entrants and conducted testing and master-classes of several disciplines amongst the hundreds of potential entrants.

The representatives of the Tomsk companies – participants of the “Pharmaceuticals, medical technology and information technologies” cluster – during the visit presented their products in the Ministry of Health of the Republic. Vice-Minister Shavkat Tillaev expressed his interest in the use of Tomsk medical instruments and drugs in Uzbekistan and also raised the question about the organization of mutually beneficial supplies of plant raw material for the pharmaceutical industry and joint development of innovative products and technologies.

During negotiations with “Dori Dormon” company headquarters, which has a wide network of pharmacies and wholesale medical supplies for the Republic’s healthcare, both sides agreed to examine in detail the probable volumes of the supplies of Tomsk medical instruments and drugs for Uzbek consumers.
