TPU and TSU in the world’s top-200 universities for quality of education

Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Tomsk State University (TSU) were among ten Russian universities in the top-200 world rankings for educational quality compiled by Round University Ranking (RUR). The rankings were based on the data of ThomsonReuters, reports TASS, citing the RUR press service.

According to quality of teaching, among the top-200 is Lomonosov Moscow State University in 67th place compared to last year’s 80th place, followed by Bauman Moscow State Technical University in 106th place and Russian Peoples’ Friendship University in 112th place.

“In addition, the rankings include Tomsk State University (131) and Tomsk Polytechnic University (179),” according to the agency. The rankings also include Nizhny Novgorod State University (135), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (136), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (143), Moscow Aviation Institute (155) and St Petersburg State University (189).

According to TASS, the first three places in the rankings go to American universities – California Institute of Technology, Harvard and Stanford.

RUR is an international company based in Russia. Its rankings have been published since 2010 and include 750 universities from 76 countries.
