“The school is held annually, and this year has seen applications from students in China, Switzerland, the Netherlands, India, Nigeria, Spain, Slovakia, France, the USA, Estonia, Korea and other countries.”

A total of around 150 foreign students will study Russian at TSU. The largest group (71 students) will be from China. This year the language school will have more students than in previous years. Traditionally the school offers two sessions – from 20 July to 7 August and from 10-28 August.

In the space of 3 weeks the students will study Russian with TPU teaching staff. The first half of the day is occupied by classes; during the second half a variety of cultural activities are planned to aid language learning in an informal environment. The students will visit museums, theaters, and converse with guides, students from other countries and other interesting people.

“Our guests will have a chance to take part in master classes on decorating matryoshkas, making traditional Russian dolls, and to get acquainted with traditional Russian food,” said Andrei Fayerman, head of the Department for Education and Socialization at TPU’s Institute of International Education and Language Communication.
