Tomsk delegation visit to Uzbekistan concludes

As part of the visit, the representatives of the five Tomsk universities participated in the international “Education and Profession” exposition, which was visited by 8 thousand Uzbek school leavers wishing to study in Russia.

More than 150 university entrants listened to lectures and took the tests prepared by Tomsk universities’ admissions committees. During the meetings at the headquarters of the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Medical Academy, the Tashkent University of Information Technology and the Uzbekistan State Institute of Physical Culture, the Tomsk representatives agreed about cooperation within the academic mobility programs, joint scientific research and participation in international network projects. SSMU and the Tashkent Medical Academy signed long-term cooperation agreements.

Simultaneously, the business mission of the Tomsk companies which participated in the “Pharmaceuticals, medical technology and information technologies” cluster took place. Special interest of the representatives of the Republic’s business circles was aroused by the production of the Tomsk companies “Biolit”, “NGO NICOR”, ”MAC Duny”, “Mednord”, “Akvelit” and “Spinor”.

The “Biolit” company signed a memorandum of understanding with the largest medical drugs suppliers in Uzbekistan, the “Uzpharmprom” state concern, about mutual supplies of organic mineral raw materials, joint research activity and product distribution. Additionally, an agreement with the Burda House of Cosmetology and Visage was signed, where a master-class for usage of the professional cosmetics of Tomsk’s “Biolit” for Tashkent cosmetologists was held.

During negotiations with the Vice-Minister of Health of the Uzbek Republic Shevkat Tillaev and the representatives of “Uzmedtehnika” and “Uzmedexport” the parties discussed the prospects for supplies of Tomsk’s medical technology and drugs.

The delegation’s visit was organized with the support of the administration of Tomsk Region, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Uzbek Republic and the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Uzbek Republic.
